With this poem drawing parallels to hair journeys, the Your Story Matters Journal invites writers and journal keepers to explore how their life story is unfolding.

On the front cover, the poem overlays a photograph of the back of a person's elegantly dreadlocked head. Framing this image are slices of fourteen close-up photographs of Black hair (diverse textures, styles, and colors) and colorful African beaded jewelry.
